Hi there,
We are experiencing weird faults with our PPM ATT400 mobile crane. The turret hooter/horn came on and remains on all the time, foot switch is ok, so we wondering if there may be a short somewhere. Only temporary solution we found was to remove the relay R4 (see photos bottom right of IMG_3916 R4) but then we having problems with the outriggers not working, so we retuned the relay and disconnected the horn.
Then yesterday whilst loaded and slewing anticlockwise, the engine cut off and circuit breakers /fuses popped out. We managed to push them back in and continue with the job.
We have had plenty of heavy rain storms here in Lusaka recently so am wondering if this may be caused by water puddling up in the cable looms or somewhere else and shorting circuits or something similar? Could there be a problem with the swivel contacts between the turret and the carrier body as it happened when slewing?
Any advise on where to look next would be very mush appreciated? We have a serious lack of skilled heavy plant electricians /technicians here in Zambia!
thanks, Mic
