Mustang 519 Telehandler Gearshift Issue

Lift will crank and shift into reverse but will blow a fuse immediately and shut down when placed in forward motion. lift boom will operate normal, no visible leaks or other problems detected. Could it be a possible wire short or any other ideas?

Sounds like a short. Inspect the wiring, starting from the forward selector.

Unplug the transmission and operate the shifter. If it doesn't blow the fuse, you have an issue in the trans. Could be a shorted solenoid coil.

selector switch checks out o.k. some of the wiring on this machine is very hard to get to.
