Metric hydraulic fittings? Interchangeability between DIN 3902 vs 2353

Hi everybody,

I have an old Akerman H10b. I'm pretty sure the servo circuit fittings are DIN 3902. These seem to be hard to find. DIN 2353 is much more common (and seems to be a newer spec), and from looking at fitting sketches, they seem to be dimensionally identical with each other.

Does anybody know if those 2 DIN fittings are interchangeable with each other? I searched online, and can't seem to find anything talking about interchangeability.

well, nobody seemed to know, so i went and figured it out. I'm replying with my own answer here, in case somebody finds this thread looking for an answer.

Yes, they ARE interchangeable, at least in the 8L size. The fittings look different, but they seem to make nice tight, leak-free connections.
