Lot Clearing Question

How does everyone bid lot clearing jobs? We have been doing by the hour work as we have started out but are getting a bit bigger and are being asked more and more to put bids in...any help for a rookie would be great!! :notworthy

All depends on what you are going to do with the stumps and logs. We won't do a 1/2 acre lot for under $2,500. We get anywhere from $3,500 - $4,000 per acre, depending on how thick it is. We chip the brush and haul out the stumps in our tri-axles and dump them at our shale pit. If we can, we will burn the lot off to get rid of the stumps. Also, we have a guy that has a firewood business and he comes with a log truck and picks up the logs. We give them to him for free because he makes us sideboards for the dump trucks and trailer planks for us.
