looking a ripper tooth to purchase

looking at a ripper tooth.
My excavator has a bucket radius of 48 inches per CAT book.Center of the pin hole for the stick pin to tip of teeth on bucket.
The ripper tooth I am looking at has a 55 inch radius.
Do you think the 55 inch radius ripper would work with my excavator? What are your thoughts?
Any experience with a larger ripper then the machines bucket?
