Chore at hand is to raise typical 55g plastic drums up into the dump truck and or dump trailer. Said drums are to be full of broken out shower tile and what not from a bathroom improvement job: 5 gallon buckets at the scene of the demo and these dumped into a drum on a two wheel cart trekked from said room at the back of the house to the driveway. Could make a ramp - or can we use the mini?? Hmmm.

As to why this concept: Sometimes invention is the result of desperation.
And we never know if there is a bathroom upgrade in your future.

!!!Everything here is untested prototype and should not be copied.....

Summary of the work in progress:

As to the attachment, went ahead and added a piece of 2.5" ID 'hitch tube' in order to also gain versatility to move small trailers/air compressor/light tower - if forklift or truck not avail.

Not sure if any of this will work - but this errant thought occurred about an extra feature - maybe even a short three or four foot piece of 2" tube for a quick fit jib?

Any lifting - especially with underslung loads - should not be done without proper professional instruction, but luckily for us, we have the 'project manager of the house' to refer to for detailed specific guidance.

Attachment c.jpeg

The contrivance: mostly some scrap 1/4" plate and the hitch tube, 7018 w a trusty powcon

Barrel rig.jpeg

Triangular base with some sched 40 pipe: the flat bar links lay down and keep the straps away from the feet and the barrel dolly when the barrel is placed/dropped onto the base. Top frame of some old rusty rebar keeps the straps 'trapped' due to the Underslung Load - which is to be never taken lightly.

Mock lift.jpeg

The mockup lift (without the fabricated attachment contrivance) holding the empty barrel to determine action on loading into dump truck [or a little lower would be the dumping trailer]. This job is a full bath with separate shower and a tub platform and a lot of tile and mud bed, ole school green board and tile backer etc etc.

~~~~~~~
Upending the barrel will be by manual - to give the operator some additional exercise following the hand cart movement from the back of the house.
Q: Maybe the title should have been: how to use the mini ex while making progress on the bathroom remodel demo
This job is in the upper floor of a two story house and a long walk to the truck. There is a trash chute from the back deck leading to the barrel(s) - and comparatively these each hold more than the typical wheelbarrow.
