I worked at an oilfield tank manufacturer. They had a 750 barrel tank all set up with studs to add insulation after hydro testing. The foreman forgot to let the air pressure off before letting the water out and it sucked the top of the tank in. Expensive mistake. Even on a 400 barrel tank they test with 1 1/2-2 PSI air pressure. You wouldn't think it's very much pressure but when you let it out through a 1" fitting, you'd swear it was 120 PSI coming out of a compressor tank. Almost blows you over.
Crane operator I really feel for you with that electrical mess. I think I'm like most and dread trying to solve electrical problems. I had some sparks in the wiring on my Cat and of course it was under the floor board. I opened everything up and couldn't see a thing except 1 ground wire was a little fried where it was bolted on. Everything seemed to work OK so I figured it was just a freak thing. A couple weeks later a friend who's a mechanic took a look. He giggled the wiring in the loom and got a spark right away. Of course the loom was melted but it was right at the very bottom and there was no way to see or feel it without taking a couple mounts off. He brought a special Motorcraft wire splicing kit and fixed it for me. It had metal sleeves and a pliers like crimper that double crimped the sleeves. Kind of like a crimper they use to put TV cables ends on.
