took thermostats out

Thermostats have to be installed. Might as well put new ones in.

You mentioned you had the radiator out for repair. Are all the baffles in place around the cooling package? Might want to make sure of this while you are at it.

Hey man so i called my john deere dealer and they gave me a water pump part number of SE501609… is that accurate? I know a lot of john deere stuff cross references so i just want to make sure im getting the right part. They told me that the serial number i have is not complete so they cant really pin point certain things. Just want to make sure i order the correct part.

Not sure what you mean by baffles definitely doing new thermostats just to be safe.

Foam seals around the perimeter of the cooling package. There should be NO path for air to travel around the radiator.

Water pump SE501609 is for engine model 6068TDW56 , with engine serial # 704569 and above.
As I mentioned in my posts the parts I referenced are for engine model 6068TDW07, with engine serial # 704568 and below.
What is your engine model and serial # ?
The engine serial tag should on the cylinder block between the fuel injection pump and the oil filter.

gotcha sorry abt that just wanted to make sure i checked this evening when i got off work and confirmed i do have fhe 6068TDW07 in my machine. I found the water pump both thermostats and a rad cap for $150 from conequip.
