Howdy, all. I have a 2006 JD 332 skid steer which I got from a friend back in 2017. When I start the engine with the throttle cable all the way back (idle) it revs up for a second and settles to the normal idle speed. It has not always done this, it's more recent within the past 6 months or so. I've never touched anything on the engine except water pump replacement. Just recently, the fuel solenoid did not open causing a crank, no start. I was able to get the solenoid to open and get the machine going again. I'm curious if that rev situation is related to a fuel shut-off solenoid going back or completely unrelated. Thank you very much.

Welcome to HEF Steve;)!

It is normal for that engine to rev high at initial start up (like you goosed the throttle). It should immediately come back down after it starts.
