I was replacing the top cover seals on the swash plate of each pump now the cover won't line back up. Do I have to take the pump all the way apart to get the top cover to line up?

Mechanical or EH machine? I am assuming mechanical.
I put the cover on part way, then with an adjustable wrench on the swash plate shaft, I move the shaft far enough to get the cover on.
