Day 1- Tractor would not start every time you turned the key on it blew a fuse for the key. After chasing it down, found the cold start temp sensor had grounded out internally. Also during that diagnostic the ignition switch decided to come apart and **** the bed. I put it back together but was not getting the run circuit closed with the switch so the instrument cluster was not working. I made an ignition switch out of wire jumpers and got the cluster to get power again. I replaced the ignition switch. Put everything back together. The tach was not working. Start doing the harness jiggle to see if it was a bad connection. That really seemed to have no change. Then later, stuff changed. Both turn indicators are lit. and the power reverser light is lit. The tach started working after i engaged the PTO but would go off after I turned it off. The MFWD light is on whether the switch is turned on or not. I am thinking this is a ground issue, but am at the point I need to talk to someone smarter than I am.

Day 2-At this point, Getting regular but intermittent issues with different lights, gauges on the panel. Tach mostly working but you can tell its trying to give up.( it bounces at times) The MFWD light sometimes stays on but mostly is operating in a way that makes sense.

Day 3- Ok, This got much more frustrating last night. I must have wiggled or done something by testing grounds. The power reverser started working. I drove it outside started a loop stopped the tractor and then had issues again. I am going to run jumper grounds todays, get a handful a relays to switch around into different positions, and get a new start solenoid( I have a gut feeling something is going on with the ground on this). Next step I am thinking a need to find the countershaft sensor and the solenoids for forward reverse shifting and check those.( any specific help on where those live on the tractor would be great)

I am nearing the end of what I can come up with. I'm already heading towards throwing a few parts at this to see what sticks, but I am not wealthy enough to play that game.

First start by taking a breath and go over all the work that you did.
Can I assume that all this other stuff was working before the fuse blew for the cold start?

*Breaths in. *Breaths out.
Everything was working before the fuse blew. Removed the cold start temp sensor from the circuit, fuse stopped blowing and tractor would start. Replaced the temp sensor tractor still started. Instrument cluster not working, turned on the lights and it lit the dash but the cluster we not working. this was an issue caused during diagnostics by me on the iginition switch- short version replaced the switch and the instrument cluster now has power. The tach is intermittantly not working, but would work when the pto was engaged. stopped working when it was dis engaged. Tach seems to be mostly working now. I didnt really change anything.

*breaths in. * breaths out. The tractor would not switch into forward or reverse. Started testing ground with a multimeter. Nothing really changed, the forawrd reverse started working. Able to pull it out of the shop. Then during a loop the forward and reverse stopped working. All fuses I am aware of have been checked

I have replaced the ground wire on the battery to frame. Ran a jumper ground to the Console ground. No has been seen. Continuing to work through it. Not positive how this forum works to get people looking at the issue
