When i was brought up driving a truck was something to be proud of, a man new his machine and new what it take to do the job professionally. Trucks were built to be worked on, overhauled and last.

The new freightliners like their steering wheel holders are just churned out to be cheep and dirty and on the road.

Yes i have, hated every min of it rattles, squeaks hated the dash layout in a truck with less than 100K on it. But to tell you the truth NONE of these new trucks impress me much anymore. Even the new Peterbilt dash layout dosent suit me well.

The FLD's were a decent truck for the buck, cheep and dirty but any of the newer trucks arnt nothing to write home about

If i lost my mind and went and bought a new tractor it would probably be a new kenworth.

Seeing as im her in the state of commiefornia i think its unfortunately going to happen sooner than later.

Well considering all trucks have to meet the same Tier of emissions I don't think they're dirty.... Everyone talks about squeaks and rattles but guess what, thats gunna happen when you put a heavy truck down the road...

I have ridden in million mile paccar products that were well maintained but also remarkably quiet. besides the plastic on plastic construction of the new freight liners my other gripe is the only engine options are the new detroit or Mercedes power. Neither of which im a fan of.

This is what I make my money with . 1993 Pete , maxed out 420 horse cat , Deep reduction 9 speed . Because of the weight of the boom there was an effort made to lighten it up motor wise (Dang it) . Bob tail it weighs 33,500 . So if a load needs a permit for weight I will get it (To a certain point). 664,000 miles so far . Spends the biggest part of its time spinning a hydraulic pump .
