Hold valve removal question

I have a JLG 45ic lift. I have the mid cylinder staying extended. What is the procedure for removing the hold valve to release the oil pressure holding the cylinder in the up position? I had the lift in the full up position and when I came back down the mid cylinder would not come down.
Thanks for any help.
