Hitachi Ex120 Problem

I have what I believe to be a 120-2. I have read almost the entire thread and have found a lot of great tips that I will try as soon as the weather clears. Would someone please email me the Manuel. I just purchased the machine a few months ago and have had nothing but problems. I found a lot of wiring disconnected, leaks and the biggest problem, it stalls out when putting much of a load on it. I believe it to be a "grey market" Hitachi, therefore I can't get any help from Deere. bryanlyon5150@gmail.com

I have a Hitachi EX120-1. It started stalling when the hydraulic pump was under load. At the same time, the engine started to run hot, and the hydraulics became really fast. Various people have looked at it, one said the pump was u/s, so I took it off and took it to a pump specialist, who couldnt find anything at all wrong with it! I believe it is an hydraulic problem, rather than a fuel problem, because the engine recovers its revs straight away when you release the lever. At some time in its former life, a lot of wires to the pump had been cut, and rejoined by twisting together, the machine worked for many years like this. I have remade all the connections, and it has slightly improved how the machine works, you can at least dig now, although the engine still stalls when a ram goes to its full extension or retraction, as though the pump is at full swash. Has any one else experienced anything like this? All suggestions gratefully recieved!
Try the regulator valve on the pump if it's worn the the pump won't regulate the flow and will cause the engine to die?

Hey guys I have a ex-120-2 had problems with the electronics so we bought a conversion kit for it and have it installed but the hydraulics are very slow. Does anyone have a detailed installation manual for this? We have instructions but they are a bit vague. A very good heavy machinery mechanic is doing all the work but is having trouble finding anyone who has done these before and no one wants to help us out. He has went through all the pumps and everything but just can't quite figure out why the hydraulics are moving so slow. All the pressures are good on the main pump and pilot pump all new o-rings springs were cleaned and the list goes on. Any help would be much appreciated

I did the same conversion directions suck and no help. So I printed out all the pictures I could find showing hose routing and pump adapter. Ok got that, then could not find where hose went on valve block. I compared pictures of all the different kits for sale and found one part I didn't have and couldn't buy separately. It is an adaptor to replace DP sensor which is where hose goes. I took an old DP sensor I had took It apart, drilled It out brazed in a hose fitting sealed up the holes on the sides re installed Orings and it worked.
All functions work fast enough, Your not going to get the speed of a new machine but its workable.

Send me your email and ill send pics of what I followed. I don't know how to post pics.

Welcome to HEF MK;)! Check your controller fuses first, especially the 1 amp. Also in the future start a new post rather than piggybacking off an existing post. If you use the search feature in the upper right below your username and search Hitachi you will find lots of posts with your same complaint that will probably help you out.

Going through the same nightmare myself right now. Any chance you could share what you followed for installing the kit? I got the instructions from SINOCMP, but they are garbage. My email is j.ottman11@gmail.com. Thank you so much. I'm at a point that I don't know where to connect the hose to the control valve. Thank you so much - Jason
