I have a Genie Boom TMZ-34/19 and I don't have any functions working at any of the controls. I purchased it from a gentlemen who told me it had a problem with the system board. I sent the board to Radwell to have fixed and received it back but there was no change. I have power at the control box where the wires come from the batteries. There is one light on in the control box which has E-Stop OK beside it. Other than that the controls at the platform and ground controls will not light up at all. I replaced the fuse switch as well as the old one was broken. Both Emergency Switches are good and the key is good. It was made in 2000. I have both blue boards, again having had the system board tested and fixed. If I could get some help diagnosing to figure out where the real problem is, I would much appreciate it. Again, with the key on the only light present is the E Stop light.

Does anyone know somebody that knows a lot about Genie 34/19 lifts. I really need some help fixing mine. I know it has to be something obvious but I haven't figured it out. Thanks.

I can tell you they are a problem machine.
When they work, they work great. When they quit working, they are a friggin nightmare.

Does your machine have the little digital display on the ground control panel? It’s a three or four digit display that will show status and error codes. Some of the earlier ones didn’t have them but if yours does that could be helpful troubleshooting. Switches are a common problem on these. Switches sense the position of the booms, turntable, and outriggers. If the machine isn’t satisfied that the booms and outriggers are fully stowed nothing will work until that is corrected. Another common issue is the “button” membrane overlay on the ground and platform control boxes. If a button is dirty or shorted the machine will error. You can unplug the ribbon cable to the membrane panels one a time as a test. I think you can also unplug the cable at the ground control box that goes up to the platform control box. That will eliminate a problem with the cabling and the platform control box. Another common issue is the pins sometimes get pushed back in those big multi-pin connectors on the ground control box and then they don’t make contact. If the boards have been removed and reinstalled I’d check the connectors carefully. Pull each plug and make all the pins straight and secure.
