Genie 5519/2506 joystick functions

My 2506 or 5519 has the joystick that the left thumb button is a slider. It controls the boom in and out. The other telehandlers we have and have used have the boom extend on the side to side motion of the joystick and thumb buttons for tilt. Can a person change around the wiring easily to make the joystick match what we are used to? 2014 model
