Ford 555B transmission problem (electrical)

My transmission disengages as I increase RPM, but if I turn the key to the off position, then it works fine. I'm told that the transmission and shuttle shift are all mechanical, but I'm sure there is some electrical issue that is effecting whether or not the transmission stays engaged. Can anyone tell me if there is some sort of electrical cut-off for a power reversing transmission on this model?

Thanks

check see if you have a declutch switch for changing gears or neutral while working hydraulics sounds like you have a switch failure most are normally open closed to operate when you shut the key off its taking power away so then no declutch.
