Well,the other part of this equation is that now I know who dropped a dime on me--a neighbor,can't understand why as this isn't effecting him at all.I'm just a little paranoid that if he doesn't see me start doing something soon,he just might start calling some other gov't alphabet soups,like we all know who. I want to keep this at the town level at all costs.

Based on my experience with these type of issues, I think you're ok. They get around to eventually asking for the remedial work so I wouldn't worry. Sounds like you had a friendly meeting - that's good:). My observation - go in with a chip on your shoulder, tell them they're unreasonable, picking on you, etc and they go into the strict enforcement / penalty mode.
