well everything is finally starting to turn around down here in the natural gas business, we finally got some permits to do some building instead of piddling around cleaning ditches out. Here are some pics, sorry not the best i had to take them myself from inside the hoe

Glad to see you're back at work. I've been hearing that from a lot of people. Hopefully this is a sign of better things to come. :usa

Nice pics by the way. Is that snake cut in half?

yeah they have told us that this year will be alot better than last year...and no i just caught it with my bucket i have dug up over 20 snakes in the past week here even with the snow and frigid temps...they are all down in the ground for the winter and flip out a big rock and there will be a wad of them under there

How are things going over in the States? Australia is seemingly back in good stead, about 70% of what it was before the collapse. All of our machines (3x30tonners) are getting about 60hours a week, so we consider ourselves fortunate. Western Australia is booming with Iron ore and natural gas.

Coming off a pretty scary 2009, our company has been as busy as ever these last couple months. Not sure if it's because people are going back to work again or if our competition is shrinking. Could be a combination of both.

Nearly all the work is out of state though, and a significant amount is international, so things still aren't looking good for California.

our work is back to about 80% of what it was 2 years ago, we are getting between 55-65hrs a week, and gas companies are doing more drilling now...so its all starting to turn around, i think it will be wide open again by summer time, we have just had absolutely no break in this weather. It's done nothing but snow almost every day since december, and we dont work when the weather is really bad because of the roads and stirring up to much mud

Its good to hear that things are starting to pick up even if only for a few, its still a sign going in the right direction.
Be positive not negative is a good train of thought in my opinion.

Here in the UK I have been ticking over gently, a darn sight better off than many for which I am thankful. Monday we go 7am till 6pm so its getting better. Still only done one Sat since Aug so a long way still to go.
