This is the recycling channel, remember when cotton diapers were recyclable and ya needed diaper pins to hold 'em on? Last time I saw a diaper pin it was some freak with a mohawk trying to pi$$ off his parents had one stuck through his cheek as a fashion statement.

I hauled a bread truck body. I sold it for aluminum breakage .20 a pound I was happy with that. I thought and thought about cutting it up for clean but that would have been a lot of work and I have plenty to do and its hard to figure what my time is worth .

Got 140 ton for shred at Mexico Mo., all the other scrap yards are paying around 110 close to me. Had a farm I was cleaning up for a guy and he gave all the scrap to me. Worked great since I already had equipment there to load it.

Took some shred steel to Greensboro, NC for $130 / ton

The price for shred has been between $120/ $160 this spring . I took some batteries in and got .10 a pound . They were in the way glade to see them gone. I am loading a load of shred today .

What would be the best approach or options for scrapping these old dry bulk ISO tanks? The frames are steel with steel cast corners. The vessel is T316 6mm thick stainless, 5300 gallon capacity. The skins are aluminum with rock wool insulation underneath. 7500 lbs total weight. Tanks are clean with all clean certification.

To get any decent value of it will have to separate out and scrap in smaller pieces. SS brings better money that base steels, aluminum clean and shred is still pretty high.
Otherwise better off to sell on bids as a Trailer for whomever thinks can mod it to what they require. Being a old Flexi Van Conex frame might make more coin, can be amazed at what people will go on a bidding frenzy for a must have.

I think DMiller is right on that, I've worked tearing stuff apart only to learn someone would give three times the money for it whole. If you have time that's the way I would go, you can always salvage them later.

If you have the equipment, separate the tank from the trailer. As it's being scrapped, a mobile dry bulk tank isn't worth much. A Flexi-van trailer maybe.

This one happened to be sitting on a leased container chassis. They had a rough life hauling salt, so the frames are rotted beyond repair and won’t pass a CSC inspection.

These were made by Brenner in the early 90’s.

Like you guys say, it’s probably best to sell
them locally. The vessel would make a great underground doomsday shelter. Septic tank? (;

Like a lot of stuff i deal with to many questions ? Is is easyer to sell as is but what is the cash difference what is your time worth ???

Scrap it is... Anybody breaking a ship or do you have a primary scrap yard within hauling distance? Look for a facility with a shear or something to pull it apart. I doubt it's worth your time to separate the metals and deal with the insulation. You might have to treat the insulation as haz mat. Definitely... if you manually take it apart, a respirator is good for your health.

I had a trailer loaded with aluminum breakage i wanted to use so i hauled it yesterday . I also had a bunch of copper . Copper is at a great price right now . I came home and started working on some more copper . I will sell another load of copper this week what ever is easy to get ready. I got $3.60 a pound for number 2 copper.

I hauled another load of copper . I am trying not to bring anything home but i pulled a guys dump trailer home and loaded that load and a small car with a little bit of stuff up on my truck. They said copper may go down a little this week. I have two 5 gallon buckets of copper i will take with the load of steel.

I was told electric motors are up . I have a ton or two that i was saving to strip out but i have plenty of stuff to do so i loaded them up.It was one of those deals were should i keep and spend time on or sell and get out of the way. There on the truck and out of the way.

I took a load of aluminum and stainless yesterday the price is up . I hope to get another load ready this next week. It would be great to get my pile cleaned up.

I hauled a load of shred Saturday it brought $130.00 a ton. I will probable start loading another load today. I started cutting up some heavy stuff for number #2 prepared it brings more money than shred but it takes time and money Oxy/propane to do it. I have some stuff i couple things i know i will cut up but its hard to figure is the extra time /money worth it? The place i have been going to because it is a better trip traffic wise stopped buying stuff for the last few weeks . I not for sure if it was because there lot was getting so full or what? I sure hope they reopen . The place i went to this time the highway there dosent seem to have a speed limit my old stuff is happy at 55/60. I got passed several times where it wasn't very safe.
