anyone know if there is a special oil that goes in the limited slip differential its making a loud popping noise when turning

There is a additive to put into the oil for wet brakes. It is for reducing the noise in the brakes when they are applied. What you are describing sounds like your spider gears are damaged. Have you drained the axle and checked for metal chunks.
