The company I work for has 12 DD-15's and 2 DD-16's. Co-designed by Daimler/Detroit. The oil and fuel filters are cartridge, but simple to change. Belts last 200K but you change
tension-er at same time $182.00. Engines can develop oil leak on left side of head where fuel lines enter. Starter is on-right side not bad to change. Air compressor and power steering
pump are located on left rear of rear structure. Had a few coolant reservoirs leak. Air filter is power core 66.00. Small amount of electrical issues.

The engine looks scary as hell, but we bought two in 2010 and ran them 500,000 as a test, very little engine trouble. Very good Highway mileage at 100,000 GVW 6.5 to 7 .
The last 6 trucks have the DT-12 automatic. Drivers like them. It's an ugly engine but all in all-run very well. The Jakes can't be beat, I-84 Cabbage Hill in Oregon is 5.5 of 6%.
Our drivers run 45 to 50 mph and never touch the brake, except for one corner hauling 100 GVW.
