Been looking to bring this thread up to speed!!! Fletcher Challenge 52-48 serial# 60116 still in service now owned Beban Logging.
I find it amazing that these GIANT machines are in the woods yanking on the stuff they pull! In my area just putting a 25 ton crane up it is leveled perfectly and all that... These monsters on those logging roads and operating in less than ideal spots... CRAZY COOL. Thanks for sharing Murk100

I believe this was CZ's "HECATE CROWN" with the self loading barge "CROWN ZELLERBACH No. 1". The "CZ No. 1" is still in service as the "SEASPAN HARVESTER".

Any one have any pictures of CZ when they were up in Kitimat. They were here until the early 80's and then left. I have seen a pic of one of the off highway trucks in a parade and have one of a P16 hauling logs on the QC, Islands. Need to learn how to scan and upload to this site. LOL

Shared pic of CZ unit #40-50. It's a Hayes HDX with sander box. I shot some pics of sander box when it was scrapped at LLL shop. I'am not sure if it was on the same truck! Thanks for sharing.

I tried looking that Pacific up in the serial number books that I have scanned for Pacific Truck, there was no listing of this particular truck, but there was a bunch of trucks built for CZ between 1955 and 1958...

Re. post #91 I thougt I had pics of same sander box, but I was wrong. Pics show sister truck CZ unit #40-51. It seems to me it is a set forward Hayes HDX model. Pics were taken at LLL shop in summer 2005.

Hayesno1 That Smith Sandbox was the 17 yard box but what they did (Timberwest) was add the 12 inch lift kit between the top of the sandbox and the screen This gave more volume of sand that it would carry. Usually these box's were mounted on flex frame trucks with say 46-40 rears and 12:00X24 tires but when they were phased out and they replaced them with the rigid frame trucks they were far more stable and thus would carry a bigger load of sand.

Euclid Pre-load truck 1960
This truck is a Euclid pre-load truck with a 50 ton Columbia pre-load trailer . On the door its has Comox logging and Railway out of Courtenay , truck number is hard to read , the first 3 numbers are unknown ???-16. I asked HDX about this truck . He thought this truck maybe hauling down in Ladysmith since Comox logging and Railway were big down there around that time . Crown Z bought out Comox logging so all the operations became Crown Z camps ,this is why i'm posting these here .Anyone with extra info please post :D

Cool, an R18 logger! Do you have any more pictures of it? I'm guessing probably not but I thought I would ask...
