I've had many Craftsman ratchets warranted. The first was kind of special as it came with the first socket set I ever purchased on my own. I bought it when I was 16 or so and used for some years. After I got out of the service I went to work for an equipment dealer who had many different lines of iron, Poclain being one of them. The had three of them that had set out in the back yards for a couple years and one of them actually got sold. It was a PC300 excavator which was the size of a Cat 245. I was assigned to get it running and up to the shop to do a minor service and delivery check. I got this project on a Friday afternoon. I pulled the machine into the shop and did what needed to be done and cleaned up my stuff and pulled the machine out of the shop and ran over that Craftsman 1/2" ratchet. Well it snapped the head off the handle clean. I picked up the two pieces, brought them home and showed the wife. She thought it was a little funny and asked if I though Sears would warranty the thing and I thought, all they could say was yes or no so off to Sears we went. The sales lady on duty looked at it and went and got the manager at the time. He came out and looked it over pretty dubiously and told the lady to go get a new one. I thanked him and then he commented by saying please don't abuse them to that extent in the future. I thanked him and got the wife and started walking out of the store when the manager said to the lady, "it looks like he ran over that with a D8 dozer." My wife with half a smirk on her face heard that as I was heading for the door and looked square at both the store employees and said, " oh no it was a much larger machine."
I bought plenty more Craftsman stuff over the years almost feeling guilty each time.
