how tough is it to replace clutch in 1982 ford 8000 3208 5 speed . looks like a guy with ave mechanic skills could handle it. any tips?

You will need a transmission jack, an input shaft to line up new clutch disk, and access to air tools will help a lot. Also, be sure to remove the flywheel and have it turned and a new pilot bearing installed. Wait until you have the old clutch out before ordering new one unless you absolutely sure what size clutch is in there. Depending upon how the back motor mounts are attached you may have to support the rear of the engine. If they attach to the engine you will be ok, if they attach to the bellhousing, you will need to jack the engine up.
