This is a pretty big year for new machine introductions, as Tier 4 Interim diesel-emissions regulations took effect for 75 to 174 hp diesel engines on Jan 1. It looks like the makers are working hard to get more out of machines to justify the added cost of the emissions-reduction hardware.
Look for more details next week from Caterpillar on the new F-Series backhoe loaders, new D-Series skid steers and compact track loaders, and new E Series mini excavators.
Here are some basics on the new series: http://www.forconstructionpros.com/...roduce-new-backhoes-at-world-of-concrete-2012
Cat will also display the 924K, 930K and 938K additions to the K-Series wheel loaders and the D3K2, D4K2 and D5K2 dozers at a big show for the first time next week, although they issued some introductory materials on those machines last fall (links to coverage of those machines at the URL above).
The other earthmover makers are also introducing new machines in the high-volume size categories this year, but I'm surprised there aren't more press events scheduled for next week. We'll do our best to keep you posted, but I may not get to this forum regularly. It's gonna be a busy week in Las Vegas.

It's where we post all our show coverage.
All the best,
