Drained hydraulic oil in tank and tube and refilled. Removed air vent plug on pump until oil came out. The book says after pump filled with oil replace vent plug and start engine. With engine at low idle, fully raise boom and hold in this position.
The book then says to stop the engine and slowly lower the boom until the bucket is on the ground this pressurized the hydraulic tank. then book says to slowly loosen the vent plug several turns until oil flows out. This is a indication that the air has been released from the pump.
My question is when you raise the boom and hold in the position and stop engine I can not lower the boom with engine stopped. Am I missing something.
Thanks
