have a 304 e cat and notice a little up and down play in the king post sometimes. can you remove shims to tighten up slack? and how big a job is it?

If you look down on the vertical pin that holds the turret to the house you should see two retaining bolts. The movement is not a problem until you see the heads of those bolts being hit by the inside of the slotted holes. I don't recall there being any shims.
