So I am getting ready to pull the oil pan so I can pound the dents out of the oil pan.

Can the pan be pulled in frame?
Any thing I should look at while I have it open?
Thoughts on sourcing pan gasket and oil filter. (I don't have a Case shop local)
How many quarts should go in the engine?

I looking for what I might not be thinking about. Help me not to make mistakes..

Thank for the help.

I believe the pan can be removed while the engine is installed. The oil pump needs removed before you can slide the pan out. Gasket kit is a FP Diesel part# A189524
