left controls won't work, will only turn to the right. The hydraulic pumps are so expensive, need suggestions on what to do. Haven't seen any hydraulic leaks, its filled with oil.Has a 18 h.p gas engine. Belts are tight. I have the service Manual, but no gages to check pressure.

You might have a sheared key or a busted chain, on the non working side, have you checked them?;)
