Not to make light of this oil spill at all. It appears the state of IL wants to take further action against the big yellow mother ship.

Here is the article from Forbes.com

Just to recap...

State of Illinois suing Caterpillar over oil spill

Illinois state and county authorities filed a seven count complaint against Caterpillar after nearly 6,500 gallons of oil escaped from its Joliet facility, streaming downhill into the Des Plaines River. The complaint includes several violations, including endangering the environment. Six counts of the suit seek $50,000 per violation with $10,000 for each day the violation continues, with the seventh charge seeking $10,000 per day of violation. Caterpillar is aware of the complaint and will continue to “cooperate with state and federal authorities.” Although state attorney James Glasgow acknowledges Caterpillar was quick to report the incident and aid in the clean up, the lawsuit is intended to make sure Caterpillar “takes steps to prevent any such spills in the future.”
