I have a 2006 jlg boom lift. When I engage the foot throttle and try to move lift forwards or backwards, the machine will instantly die. Can anybody help?

It sound like the brake is not releasing. The lift at work needed to be warmed before you went to the higher rpms or it would die but at a ideal it would move ok.

Are you moving at all ?? Does motor load up and acts like its stalling out or does it act like its just shutting off like you turned it off. All other functions work ?? If just drive i would check to make sure brake release soleniod is getting power and brakes are in fact releasing first. Then I would check forward/reverse coils on drive pump.

Do you own a volt meter? You're going to need one.

Do you have a copy of the service manual for your JLG? You need that too. One can be down loaded from the JLG website.

Somewhere in that manual, will be a trouble shooting section. Find your problem in the troubleshooting, work through the solutions.

Check that all safety switches have met their limits. Is deadman switch in working condition? Local/remote or ground level/bucket control switch is in proper position?
