Boom extension drift on P&H RT40

I remembered today that we need to look at the crane to determine why the boom extension bleeds down... I have never been inside the boom and not even sure how they extend...? Is that a telescopic hydro cylinder? there are no oil leaks and nothing else bleeds down. This has been proven to occur at about the same rate at max lift capacity and a minimal load. Probably would do it with the weight of the boom alone.

I am hoping it is a load check valve that is bypassing and not something inside the boom.
