Was travelling across NY state this morning & came across this old Allis Chalmers Track Loader, a HD 11G sitting along side the road & thought I would share a few pictures of it for the Allis fans! Looked like it has been sitting quite a while.

Not a bad looking old machine, looks as if someone is trying to keep the engine at least a little dry(bucket). Did not build too many of those where that one does not look too terribly rough. Will have the same rails as a HD11B an 11B even my 7G as these were all 7" pitch dry pin rail. I dearly hate to see machines ignored and left to rot away.

Turned the location and machine over to some other contacts in the Allis network, may be one or more interested in the old machine if the owner can be found and will part with it.

Have not heard back. He was working on another issue with harvest coming up where he thought would be headed that way around now or early Nov.

Cool looking old crawler, had a question about it how do you get into that machine do you have to crawl through the half door?

That is the case here. As memory serves the machines I can remember you stepped up on the rail stepped on the fender to battery box or hyd. tank then into station. With the cab you would have to slip down into the swing opening.

Maybe a little creativity would solve. How about a couple of stout hinges at the very rear / side panel interface thereby making a half door. Slide in behind the tank or battery box and into the Captains seat! Simple steel handle with a turn latch and easy access is provided to the operator. The design described would be very simple and cost effective.

Passed by that machine again two days ago, a year after spotting it for the first. Still sitting there & the trees growing up around her are getting bigger! Would be nice to see someone buy it if it is for sale & put her to work! It is about 200 miles from where we live & we pass by it on our way to our vacation spot.

Passed by this machine early this week again & she is still sitting there (it's been a year since last going by)! Trees are starting to envelope her a bit more now! I guess no one wants her or maybe the owner doesn't want to part with her...…...
