955L Metal pcs found bevel gear- Help?

Working on my 955L changing the oil, which was milky, in the Bevel gear - steering clutch. I found these pieces in the bottom of the case, looks like they were some sort of lock before getting chewed up. I was hoping someone might know what they were.
