That is a pretty decent deal for a 690 that machine is probably never seen any hard digging or what we would class as hard digging on the West Coast of B.C. . Any 690s of that year around here are well beat with 10,000 or more hours.

The 690 I ran for the contractor I worked for had more hours than that and I think he paid 40 grand canadian.

I was told with the 690s you need a mechanic that knows how to set them up right because they use electric controls. One of the operators in the area has 15 years on 690s he said he wouldn't run anything else.

i would say that it is very average wear/tear for a machine with 6000 hrs on it. we drop engine oil/filters every 150-200 hrs. air filters as needed, hydraulic filters/oil as per manufacturer's specs, greased daily. she's got some cosmetic dings to be expected of a machine this age. but it's really a horse lift wise, it will outlift our 210 hyundai. we've just picked up so much work for this year, we really feel we need to be updating equipment.
