Dale Elphinstone, owner of William Adams and former owner of Elphinstone U/G mining products which is now 100% owned by Cat. He has another company called Railmax specialising in modifications to Cat gear for rail and also owns Max Hire which was the former Gough & Gilmour rental division in NSW. So you have a dealer principal with ownership of a large rental outfit in another dealers territory and then he has a major share in Coates hire which is owned by the same group that owns Westrac, confused yet?!!!

Yeh, old mate Kerry has been trying to buy his share of Coates of late, the RailMax gear looks good, there is a market for it.. he's also got a new Scania powered haul truck in the pipeline to pitch against Haulmax and PowerTrans rumer has it it'll be half the price

I think Dale is out of Coates. Kerry picked up his share before Christmas.
Rio have bought a heap of Haulmax trucks to put service modules on. I've bored the pivots on 2 modules and I hear I have 14 to go:eek:

This thread has been around for some time now and I thought I would kick it off again with some close-up photos of 2 of the 651Es fitted with the elevators. There were 4 of these working at a mine site in the Pilbara recently. There does not seem to be many photos around of these scrapers. I never saw them working though
