444C Hard Steering

My 444C loader suddenly developed a hard steering problem. It steers very slowly if you turn the wheel a lot, more than usual, and it's very hard to turn. Then it suddenly will feel normal for a second, then get hard again. Seems like a flow problem, any specific ideas on where to look?
