We have a Deere 344L loader, serial 1LU344LXEZB052688, that popped up a transmission code the other day. Code was 522401.2, when I plugged in with service advisor it came up transmission output shaft erratic. Machine wouldn’t get out of 1st gear, then once shut off for a few hours it started to shift properly, but code still active on the screen. Speed still comes up on the speedometer however. Made sure connection at the connector was good, traced the wires and found the plug for the speed sensor by the driveshaft l, and had 12v between 1 and 4 on the connector, so assuming wiring is ok. Couldn’t find any way to test the signal wires, but not sure if that’s possible. I attached a picture of the plug diagram, I believe it’s a hall effect sensor. Just wanted confirmation that this was all correct before ordering the $900 sensor. Thanks in advance!IMG_4868.jpegIMG_4864.jpeg

There is a Fix-As-Fail product improvement for that code. Your serial number shows it was not done. Looks like this PIP will expire the end of this month. Call the dealer, it should be warranty. The fix is a newer speed sensor and updated CCU software (version V.026 or newer).

Ask the dealer about solution 220041.

For the sensor signal wire, you could measure Hz for testing. Using a scope would be best.

Mg2361,

Thank you for your help! I called the dealer today and was told they couldn’t find a PIP that was for this machine. I gave them the serial number and the solution number, but he said there were no open PIPs for the machine, and nothing with that PIP solution number. I’m assuming I’ll have to do it myself, unless there is anything else I can do to point them in the direction of the PIP?

Is the software update required with the updated sensor, or would I be able to put in the sensor without the update? Hoping I can get it covered, but if not I want to be somewhat prepared. Thank you again.

When I look up your serial it shows the pip in our system, but yes, it does show as terminated. The actual expiration date is September 1st, but I would try to fight for it. Why spend your money if you don't have to. That sensor is $1000.

I honestly don't know if the CCU update is required. They don't tell us what has changed or why. I guess I don't know the secret handshake:D.
