hello,
I want to buy a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 truck disel fuel engine. I want to know in its engine system has exhaust diesel fluid. It has a tank under passenger set in outside and refill by this fluid inside hood.
Is there anyone advise me whats the function of this system and how can I refill the tank? And is this fluid needs changing like engine and transmission pil?
Thanks.

DEF as is known US is a Urea based liquid to activate the catalyst required in the exhaust system. The DEF tank has a sensor when gets low then places the engine processor into a 'Limp' mode if gets too low. There are aftermarket bypass or elimination products if your nation does not require the use, otherwise you will need find a supplier to refill as needed but it does not need changing as oil.
