The Komatsu D455A-1 is finished. Everything works nicely, blade tilts, ripper pitch works. We will be running it down at the closed coal mine soon. We'll put some vids up on the Gloal General Robotics channel when they are done and leave a note here. Here are some finsihed pics.

We took the D455A-1 and the D575A-2 down to the closed coal mine for some field testing. The D455A performed well ripping as the video shows. We also have a walk-around of the two tractors. A rare sight both these tractors at the one location. We'll add some more videos of the D455A-1 pushing overburden soon. Meanwhile we have a couple of the new videos up now at the Global channel - here is the link to the videos.

We've put the last field test video of the D455A-1 up on the Global channel. Here's the master link to all the field test videos of the five different tractors. It's just simply a place where all the field tests can be found in the one location.

We received a suggestion we build a Super Dozer blade for the D575A-2 and run a field test. Interesting suggestion. Fabricating the blade and dual tilt-link arrangement is no problem. The difference is that the SD blade equipped machine has 8-roller bottom roller bogies and runs a 20-ton rear mounted counterweight in place of the ripper and the S,U or SU blade equipped D575A-2 has 6-roller bottom roller bogies. So the distance between the C/L of rear sprocket and the C/L of the front idler on the 1:1 machines is 15.6" for the 6-roller and 18 feet for the 8-roller SD. You've got an additional bogie on each side - longer track frames to put it simply so we'd also need to fabricate longer track frames and possibly move the equalizer bar, draft arms and a re-design of the hard-nose to support the blade lift rams mounts among a few other alterations.

That about completes the build and test report.
