Before I hand over the check for this machine this week I figured i'd ask the experts what its worth. Its a 1998 I belive, PC150LC. 6000 Hours. Machine seems pretty tight and runs good. I would be buying it off the orginal owner who currently does my excavation. Here are a few pics...

    Backhoe for pool excavation?

Yea yea yea.. I guess a 305 would be best. My 246b is getting used this winter with a 10ft push box. I was just trying to figure out how to work more iron into the lineup that could be used for snow. Turns out there is big money in snow, and iron is way more efficent then a truck with a...

Since i am now installing fiberglass pools i'll proably be looking to buy a machine within the next year so i do not have to sub out excavation. I orginally was going to buy a cat 305. But now i am thinking a backhoe may be the way to go. With a backhoe i can plow snow during the winter and...

    Compaction ?'s

Correct me if i am wrong, but i always belived if soil was compacted to the 95% standard proctor density, that it would weight the same amount after you boiled it since all the mositure would be removed from it. EH? Matt

Just remove a cone shape sample from the compacted area. Weight it. Boil it. Then weight it again.
