    Ag Chem Machines?

I'm speculating that it has to do with the different metals between the liners and the block. Eventually a hole is eaten away in the block. When we noticed was after seeing water in the oil,and oil in the water. Figured that was a bad thing.

    Ag Chem Machines?

As far as I know the Deere has been working good, other than a few "new machine" bugs that needed worked out. Funny, one of those bugs if I recall right was a loose wire which rendered the machine useless. That rig is at a sattelite facility, really don't get to see it much. Our guys are a lil...

    Custom built Machine

Got lucky this winter and found an old mechanical de-tach that had to of been built for this machine in mind. I done very little work to it,for it to fit like a glove. I did make rubber fenders that can be driven over. A lil more work with permanent oversized signage,a bulk fuel tank,a...

    Ag Chem Machines?

Sorry I'm late to the party again, but it's run n gun season again. We're trying to finish up our wheat top dress season, while we finally have a dry week of running. We've done well running on frost at night this winter, but have had many calls of late to go ahead and topdress the late planted...

    Build a cheap semi trailer

After fitting everything we stripped it all back down to the frame for sandblasting. Shown here hooked up for the 50 mile trip to the blaster. Even pulled the inside rims off for access to everything. All surfaces are cleaned down to bare metal before painting. I try to avoid two flat...

    Build a cheap semi trailer

Frame did, but you know how these things go. Save a ton in steel,so you can carry 50 gals. more fuel for the floaters and 600 gals. worth of chemical totes. lol That's what the lil hopper and meters are for on this one, inducting chemicals as we load the spray rigs. Beats jugging over the top,or...

    Build a cheap semi trailer

Forgot to post the finished pics on this project. Been using this trailer for awhile now. It's top dress season again for wheat, and it's often filled to the gills.

    Custom built Machine

Has been a busy season, just about done. Ran quite a bit in western KS for other outfits. Put a bunch of highways miles on her,but I'm looking for a detach trailer. Nothing I've found fits right,so it looks like another winter project modifying one. Made a few vids of this machine, YouTube...

    Water tanker self-load question

Serv, Im not familiar with this trailer. Looks heavy, and like it may have a small diesel powered vacuum pump, although I can't see the pump. If that's the case there shouldn't be any trouble priming. They pull a vacuum on,or pressurizes up the tank. Pumps air,not liquid like a shop vac. The...

    Water Trailers

That's how I'd rig it anyways. The last thing you need fighting a fire is a "self priming pump" that doesn't want to prime. Much quicker this way,and will pull a long ways. It'll keep a constant vacuum on the fill hose, without letting enough air into the impeller to loose prime. Play with the 2...

    Water Trailers

With a good self priming pump you should be able to throw the suction line into the water and start sucking. If your not lifting very far. Ideally tho, you can T-off between the tank and the suction side of the pump, with a second line for drawing water. You'll need a valve between the tank...

How farming has changed over the yrs

Nothinbetter, you brought up some good points. Today's employee problem is really a widespread one. The skills of the covitted farmboy are becoming a thing of the past. The remainder of the common workforce is in direct competition with higher paying employers. What's left, well we've all had...

How farming has changed over the yrs

Feed Bunk, thats refreshing to see a son staying on,but not the norm anymore (at least in our area). It's not glamorous anymore to be a farmer, and the kids these days are more interested in "easy money". I know as I have 2 boys, one entering college next yr,and one finishing his 1st yr. I see...

How farming has changed over the yrs

Perhaps this isn't the right forum for these types of project threads. Grew up farming and we were always building or modifying something. Guess these days there's not enough time on the biggers farms. Enough money to buy whats needed, and the smaller farms have plenty of used equipment to...

    Build a cheap semi trailer

Yea, we'll go thru 200 lbs. per yr of 6011 in this eviroment. Not much chipping, just hit it with a wire wheel, slag blows right off. Frame is done (200' of welds later),ready for the landing gear, fenders, bumper, and tank saddles. This frame is structurally ready for our 85,000 lb. gross load...

    Spring '09 Planting

Thought that looked deep. That's why we have so many fields with waterways and terraces. Most of our's is less than 12".Can't afford to have it running down the creeks. Milo and beans going in here now,and we're getting our spray rigs back in selective fields (still bugs and roundup work)...

    Build a cheap semi trailer

Spent most of the day welding all this up. Still a few hrs. to go yet. Migged all the new metal, but had to go with 6011's anywhere paint residue remained. The mig does not like Union Pacific yellow....at all. Must be a catylized polyurethane. Also started making the tank saddles out of 1 1/2...

Dang, shoulda posted that in the other thread, lol :Banghead Yea, I have a torch in one compartment, and a compressor in another. There's top lids that open up,one of those contains a 25 pack of every bolt size from 1/4"x1" to 3/4"x8".
