    Hi Guys!

well, that was short lived. The 21 yo golfcart mechanic at this little ski area doesn't want to loosen his grip on the snowcat maintenance. I guess his confidence will get them further than my "experience" and "the laws of physics." Bummer, I definitely feel like I'm an outsider in the...

    Hi Guys!

LOL I really appreciate that. Yeah I stand on a bench and lean way out and remembering how the access was on a loader or a truck. I even liked skid steers compared to a pick up with an extra bumper. Are you still a field tech in that truck?

    Hi Guys!

Over a year ago I signed off because I was going light duty. So I still fix diesel's only they are in Fords and Dodges instead of CASE and Freightliners. I really miss HD, every time I hear the purr of a jake go by outside I miss it. I think I'll probably just do light duty while my kids go to...

Indicators you need to slow down

Mines like a surgeon's operating tray. I have pokers, stabbers, grabby things, smashy things..ect. In the movie John Wick, the ex-assassin buries all his weapons under his garage floor in hopes that he'll never need them again. I think I might do that with all my heavy truck tools

Needs a writer for social media for our attachments

https://w.3cogblog.com/ here's my blog. But 2-3 articles a week about buckets? Here's one with pointy teeth, and here's one with rounder teeth...sounds riveting :)

Indicators you need to slow down

The cart is a toolbox refined down to the best tools. I don't know how people work without them...slowly I guess. This new clutch brake I had never seen before. It was like a spring-loaded latch. Very easy to use. I hate those button style. The first one I did I didn't set the pin all the way...

Indicators you need to slow down

I'm feeling pretty good, this indy shop was a rebound after a decade of Freightliner and Case dealerships. So this is the opposite end of the spectrum. But, too many airbags and not enough CEL's. The physical aspect appears to never end. I think auto pay has risen to compete with heavy duty, so...

Indicators you need to slow down

I'm gonna quit today, and go work automotive. But I have a clutch to do by Friday. This could be my last heavy duty clutch!? well, no pto so that's nice...

Indicators you need to slow down

I just left my 3/8ths stubby ratchet on some truck at some point recently. That's like a cop leaving his gun somewhere. I'm in a fleet situation where trucks just pull up and I try to fix them. I gotta slow down and focus. I bet everyone has their little performance check they do.

    Reusing zip ties

We can't get any big zip ties, all out of stock. So I keep cutting old ones and trying to reuse them if they're long enough. I'm pretty sure this is how the Mad Max world gets started

I've also seen them label an operators manual as a service manual

    Mechanic lessons

I once pulled a line off with pressure behind it. The oil spray covered the wall except for a clean man-shaped silhouette behind me . Glad these are stories that were here tellin' and not epitaphs

Case 90xt lost all hydraulic while running

my advice would be tackle it as an opportunity for major repairs you normally wouldn't do. whether you decide to pull motor or pump inspect everything before you start and add those other repairs in. Leaking drive hoses? oil pan gasket? rear main? do it!

    whats your favorite welding helmet

I've found the autodarkers that only have solar charging start cutting out if you do a full day of welding. Now I make sure I have battery backup. I'm having good luck with SnapOn's fancy hood
