I complain about it too but it probably paid my house off and I’ll bet it will send my kids to college.

    320d quick tatch not working

If you lose voltage when the load is connected to the circuit but have it when disconnected, typically means there is a nearly broken wire or weak connection. Pivot points on harness routing are a good place to start, otherwise you’ll have to follow the harness back to the source. Remember, a...

    C15 cam gear timing question

This is scary all in itself. I’ve contracted for companies that do things like this, always makes me nervous when they put cheap parts in critical places. But, to them, parts are parts and the only difference is price.

    Several questions/issues CAT 315L

Lucky for you, your machine is old enough to do everything through the monitor and no computer connection is required. In the file I’ve attached, the calibration will be towards the bottom. I would do the governor cal first and then do the PRV.

    In my experience…

My dash cam is a Red Tiger brand, model F7NP, it has nice video quality, app for downloading to your phone and the ability to put a larger SD card in for more storage. I just go into the camera through the app and download the 1 min clip that contains the footage I want. Makes for good...

    Several questions/issues CAT 315L

A couple of questions to get started. (1) What is the serial number of your machine? (2) Did you perform the calibration procedure on the new governor actuator after you replaced it? (3) Why was the main pump changed? (4) Did you calibrate the PRV after the pump replacement? (5) Have you...

    CAT 345C Excessive vibration

Once you get everything back together, filters need to be replaced with clean out filters and samples taken until particle numbers are within the acceptable range. After the samples come back good, you can switch back to regular filters. This is just forward thinking as you are nowhere near...

    In my experience…

I wish we could share videos here like photos, caught good footage on my dash cam today. 2 lane rural highway, lane closure for bridge repair. I was second in line and no traffic coming so I knew light was about to turn green. I saw a mini van on the other end go in and out of line a couple...

    D6T High Idle seems low

Might not be a separate parameter in ET but it very well could have an input on the max RPM. To test, I’d do a no load full RPM reading, actual and desired, and then a 3rd gear stall full RPM reading, actual and desired. Should tell you if the transmission is affecting the max desired RPM.

    CAT 740 Dumper

Are you able to do a transmission fill calibration on this machine? Also, have you checked the harness code plug and continuity from it back to the transmission ECM? I think we need to see if some of these codes can be resolved with their diagnostic procedure.

    D6T High Idle seems low

Go into ET and look at Actual engine RPM compared to Desired engine rpm, if they match, it’s doing its job. If not, something is going on. That would be my first thing to check.

    CAT 345C Excessive vibration

Don’t let this get out of hand, put some good liquid filled mechanical gauges on both pump outlet test ports and see how the needles behave first. If it’s a broken plunger, you’ll be able to see that on the gauge. Get the filters back out of it and open them up and see what’s there. Check the...

    CAT 345C Excessive vibration

I’d be looking at the main pump. I had a 374D with those symptoms and it had one of the plungers in the pump explode and send brass out the case drain. The vibration you’re feeling could be the lack of flow out of the damaged plunger in the pump. Being as the swing is fine, I’d think your issue...

Just to clear the discussion on what can and cannot be disclosed when calling previous employers, federal law basically has the same requirements as non discriminatory rules. Federal regulation reads as follows: Employment References It is illegal for an employer to give a negative or false...

Owner of some Heavy Equipment passed away

I’d jump on Hibid.com and enter your zip code. You can select a radius that will show you current auctions that are going on in that area. Many auction companies use hibid and develop quite the following of customers and from what I’ve seen, equipment/tools, things of that nature sell very well...
