Can you effectively triple push pull scrapers?

SoCal is just the name of a website with a bunch of pictures/videos of earthmoving based in Southern California. The machines are usually owned by the bigger companies there, Sukut, Coburn, Mitzel, Peed etc. There’s some cool stuff on there though.

    3412E in a D9L

Engine, torque, trans, steering/brakes, finals, undercarriage, hyd valves, plumbing, wiring, cab, hvac and paint. We have s/u and full u blades for them that get changed as the job that they're going to requires. The engine is setup as an early 10r so it shouldn't really be that big of a jump in...

    3412E in a D9L

True, however when you don't buy the 10r-1175 complete engine ar from cat and instead get a used engine at auction out of a 657, how do you know what parts will work from the scraper engine and which ones you will need to locate elsewhere.......research on sis. When you rebuild said engine, what...

    3412E in a D9L

They knew it was there, everyone who has ever looked up parts for almost any older cat machine has seen it. They just had zero interest in giving cat the amount of money that they want for that conversion, and at this point any money for a new machine. When we get new machines they are usually a...

Transition from Plant mechanic to operator

If you want to run equipment, then start out doing that. All I've ever done is mechanic, now a field mechanic, and I hate it. What pumpguy said is correct, once you become a mechanic that's pretty much where your stuck, employers (at least the ones I've worked for) won't let you transition over...

    New T-Mar Grapple Yarder

I wasn't going to chime in here, but I couldn't take the "old timer is superior to everyone" bs anymore. As a young field mechanic (32) in the construction industry, I can guarantee you that any old timer would NOT be automatically helping fix something or clean up a dam thing. Some of the...

Old 623 elevator pan. Want paddle to load

Our 615 did that and it was the rod that all of the control levers are mounted to. The cotter pin had fallen out and let the rod slide to one side and the linkage wouldn't make a full movement at the valve. Might be worth looking at, what model of 623?

    Cat F model pavers

We bought three of them last year (1055f's) and so far they have been pretty good. One broke both of the auger shafts right where the outer bearing is mounted, cat updated the shaft by removing an un-needed hole under the bearing. Other than that and some sensors they have been reliable and do a...

    DW-10 Bottom Dump Wagon

I don't know who owns it, I just found it on youtube. But I would contact the Historical Construction Equipment Association and explain what is going on and see if they are able to help you out. http://www.hcea.net/

    D 8 k

Does a k model have a wet flywheel housing? If it does there may be a reason they were running motor oil in the trans......just an idea.

    Grizzly Trucks

That blue one ^^ definitely appears to be on a mid 90's Ford f-350 cab and chassis 4x4 running gear and suspension. The wheels, long flat springs and front mounted shackles are a dead giveaway. It cant be an f-450 tho cause ford never made a 4x4 f-450 until 99, and by then the shackles were at...

    Cat 740's with scrapers

We rented a couple of these set up with k tec 44 yard (I think it was 44, it was in the 40's and it seemed huge for the 740) pans behind them on a refinery job outside of Dickinson, ND. We started pushing them with our D-8T, but it was taking way to long to load, so we hauled our 9 in. That got...

Issues with cat 140m2 seat and shoulder injury

I did read the post, and it says that you got hurt sitting in a seat. Hard to get a shoulder injury without arm movement. Presumably the injury occured when the seat moved and the armrests did not, causing your arms to MOVE up and down. Maybe try stretching during the day so your joints can deal...
