    Hydraulic pressure cap

We run the filter/dryer caps with the desiccant on a lot of outdoor stationary equipment. Put the small npt ones on gear boxes outside too.

What HD degreaser do you use?

Unfortunately when there's a lot of caked on/dried gunk there's no avoidance of mechanical cleaning, scraping, scrubbing, chiseling. They're a consumable if you do any serious washing. One thing that we found helps the life of em is purge the air out of hoses and guns, especially on longer...

What HD degreaser do you use?

Zep orange degreaser, doesn't hurt aluminum bits like purple and works great at full strength for removing carbon buildup from egr valves and similar parts. A turbo nozzle sized for the pressure washer you're using really improves things too, hot or cold.

    Damn you, Milwaukee

The holidays are always an expensive time if you're into the red tools, especially when one of your suppliers is running a buy two batteries get a free grinder along with other deals, gets outta had real quick. It's ok for shrink, a bit slow but so is everything else compared to the gold...

    Dual shield rookie

We run a good bit of Lincoln Outershield 71M, good all around and I can get .035, .045 and .052 in small spools for suitcase machines, also dual qualified for 100% CO2 or mix. As far as wind if we're doing any serious outdoor work we run Innershield, I can do a lot of damage with .068 nr-212...

Water well producing sand any well experts in the house?

Not knowing anything about the well you should have it videoed. Could have a break/separation in the casing or you're taking in sand from the screens if it has them.

Battery powered compact wheel loader Volvo L20e

I could see the utility of a small electric wheel loader as like a yard machine, occasioal load of material, fork stuff off delivery trailers, load tools and attachments into a truck. Maybe when the tech matures a bit and prices come down to compeat with the typical beater auction or marketplace...

    A recent job

I passed on an old truck right before the COVID that needed some tank work and a bit of body harness work, I really should have snagged it and parked it in the yard and tinkered on it and had the boys give it the 5 gallon overhaul.

    Just some work pics

That skid is the perfect representation of farmer work if ever there was one, I'm sure whatever isn't held together with 6010 is held on with bailing string and some tie wire lol

    A recent job

That's a nice looking rig. I can't stand any of the vac outfits here, on the hydro-ex side or the environmental side, what kills me is for the prices they charge and a lot of time show up with busted equipment or not enough hose or leaking hose or don't show on time.

    Hydraulic Hose

I have a Weatherhead crimper, only gets used for emergencies. There's a few hose places in Phx plus the dealers and several of the auto parts places, I'll gladly just take the old nasty hose and drop it on their counter. It be a different story if I was multiple hours from a hose house.

    PVC vs DUCTILE

I'm a big fan of all DIP and fittings but like the price and weight of C900 pipe better. Most of the leaks we fix on plastic are older IPS PVC, usually cracks inside 90's or around tee branches.

No more WD40 and Brake Clean in Canada?????

Banning brake clean should be considered a crime against humanity.

    Just another day in paradise

I enjoy how people here in Phoenix are always surprised its hot in the summer.

    Why I hate boom trucks

According to a former employer of mine the solution to this issue is to put a full 960 bucket on the deck, went right along with the sketchy man basket on the boom tip. Dumb ways to die lol

    VT 365

Any aerial rig is going to be high pto idle hours, if it was really worked of course, if it's upfit with lights, inverter, radio/computer the regular idle time will be up there too. I'd be more worried about the shape of the body and boom. Knowing what new trucks and aerial bodies run these...

    Recommend me a welder

Can't really go wrong with a Power Mig or a Millermatic, I do prefer the Miller spool guns slightly over the Lincoln ones.

This will be an interesting thread moving forward......

That has strong Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, and the boss is already on vacation, lets see if we can make it vibes lol The stupid operator fee?

    Lube skid

Sage oil vac makes some really nice skids, they sell parts to build your own too.

Do you used battery powered tools?

We've had a few tool battery failures, all from damage to the battery causing internal shorts presumably, obviously the one that fell and landed on some rebar was a short lol. Also worked at a place the tied those stupid M18 to Dewalt adapters from fleebay, that didn't end well for several...
