Who makes the best pair of shaded safetly glasses?

http://edge-eyewear.com/united-states/#/HOME I use the "Brazeau" Polarized gradiant grey glasses. Very scratch resistant and I believe they are the only polarized safety lense available.

    Caterpillar technicians needed

Just Caterpillar huh? I know a few mechanics that are pretty sharp but don't work on cats

    Computer controlled diesel engines?

All excavators manufactured today should have a Tier 3 engine in them. Tier 3 emissions can not be controlled mechanically as far as I know. Most Tier 2 engines had some sort of electronics on them. Tier 3 was generally just adding some sort of comon rail fuel system and egr. All of the sensors...

    Tong Thrower???

There are quite a few of them around in the northwest if you just took the time to look. Most of the time we think they're just another shovel when we drive by at mach 3 running from the dust. They work pretty good at picking up the strays from a shovel side. In a thinning operation you could...

    Rental fellerbuncher..

General rental of feller bunchers doesn't happen very often. If you had a long good standing repor with a dealer than you might get one. I don't know what the cost would be either. Pretty spendy though if you can get a rental.

    Anyone headed to Haiti?

I ain't going no matter what! Those that want to go to Haiti to help should be commended. Those that think they'll make a buck should think again. The living conditions will be a lot like fire camps. You'll be sleeping in a tent and eating whatever the red cross(or other entity) feeds you. If...

    Excavator Pin Press In Australia

If you want to throw your money away for one job! Buy me a plane ticket and pay the shipping on our track press. I'll split your tracks. Same here. Ours only comes out for 30t and larger undercarriage. Most of the time I just cut the master bushing and pin if the 20lb won't move it within...

    Outsourced Maintenance or In-House Maintenance?

When it comes to outsourcing your maintenance. A reputable mechanic with plenty of background should be the one you use. If you are call the guy that you met while he fueled his roached out shop truck with you at the pump station that morning. Your asking for problems. Know your mechanic before...

    R/C D9R dozer

Amazing. If CAT won't give you a license, change the look a little and start your own brand. Way cool. :notworthy

Lets see your "ultimate" service truck!

Oh yeah. Same style for me. I think the 60cfm compressor would be overkill for me. I don't work on pavers or concrete trucks. The other is the sleeper. I don't think the advantage overrides the extra weight for me. I am always pretty close to a hotel. This is what we run. T300's and T370's...

    Field Mechanic/ Eugene,OR

Triad Machinery is my employer. I've been turning wrenches for a living about 7 years now. I guess I'd call it a hobby before that as I wasn't paid. I graduated Wyotech in 2002 from the heavy diesel truck program. We are a distributor of Link-Belt excavators and log shovels. Also Tigercat...

    V8 chainsaws ?

I was being sarcastic. That saw is a hog. How do you mount one on grapples for a grapple saw setup.

    V8 chainsaws ?

Is that 3/4 pitch chain or are they running the full 1.5"

As I promised some of the clearing equipment on MD job

I don't think your asking about a jd644j. I think your asking about the tigercat wheeled buncher. Its a bunching head for cutting trees down and piling them together for the skidders. They work great on wheeled machines when on fairly level ground.

    Excavator Guarding Packages...

Unless you want the full hard door and guarding package. Do it yourself. You guys put together a pretty decent guarding. The Jewell shovel logger extreme package is hard to beat.

    Excavator Guarding Packages...

What excavators is this guarding for? If you have pics of what you want and it can be built without the machine present. Send me an email and we may be able to work something out. We can build you some generic guarding that can be fitted to the machine later. Post some pics of the excavator...

anyone hedging fuel to take advantage of prices?

I'm a mechanic so I can't estimate how far ahead to purchase. Based on your work picture, but I can give you some technical advise. The lubrication additive in low sulfur(#2) diesel will only last an estimated 28 days. If you have any teir 3 engines that are still under warranty. Keep that...
