    Link belt 8030

We put a rayco wylie in our 8665 about a year ago. It was around $25000 but well worth it My only real complaint is its very slow to power up and go thru its self test so we have to leave the engine running a lot more than we did before

    Rayco Wylie LMI on HTC-8665

A mode and B mode both work correctly when extending the boom but it only does a A mode retraction sequence no matter what mode is selected. It's only an issue when you need to retract under load in B mode. We do some work inside of buildings at long radius and low boom angle and sometimes have...

Controls: Single axis Vs Dual action joysticks

I'd love to have dual axis on left hand for swing and hoist and a pair of single axis on the right hand for other hoist and boom. It's harder for me to precisely boom down trying to push outward on a two axis

    Rayco Wylie LMI on HTC-8665

After a couple of attempts to repair the original Electronic Telescope Box I finally broke down and bought the Rayco Wylie system. Thought I would take a couple of minutes to talk about the good and not so good points. Good Points The new system is much more user friendly and the screen is...

    What's it weigh??

Pipe is very predictable up to a certain point. When the length of it get to around 200 times the radius of gyration the failure modes become much more unpredictable. Better to stay away from long and skinny spreader bars.

    What's it weigh??

google "companion to the AISC Steel Construction Manual" it has charts on the compressive strength of pipe and tubing. It's just a little math to figure the compressive load on a spreader bar, then look it up in the chart and see if its ok

    Rayco Wylie LMI on HTC-8665

Has anyone out there had any experience with the Rayco Wylie system retrofit on a Link Belt HTC-8665? I've got problems with the Electronic Telescope Control System box on my 8665 and the Link Belt tech says they are no longer supported. The original Microguard 414 on the crane uses two boom...

1996 Genie Z-30N won’t engage drive or reverse unless you bump the steering button

Sounds like the hydraulic pump is not kicking in to release the parking brake when you move the joystick. When you bump the steer button it starts the hydraulic pump and then the brake releases and it moves. Will it move if you try to drive while using any other function?

New guy here looking for some words of wisdom

I'm 61 years old and started out 2 years ago with a 35 ton Grove. Didn't take very long to realize that it was too small. I've got a Link Belt HTC8665 now and it's a better fit for most of my work. I do mostly ag work plus some commercial air conditioners and generators. Most of my lifts aren't...

    Grove RT635C Tire Pressure

Thanks for the information. "on rubber" load chart says that tires must be inflated to "recommended pressure" could have just said 75psi and saved some ink I've just bought this crane and I'm still working out a few bugs but it seems to be a solid machine

    Grove RT635C Tire Pressure

Does anyone have a manual for a Grove RT635C that shows the correct tire pressure for 23.5x25 Radial Tires? It's not in the brochure or the operators manual that I can find.
