O&K MH 4 CITY Hydraulic system Trouble!?

Did the mechanics verify that temperatures are actually climbing using mechanical gauges?

    Non computerised excavator

I think you'd have to go well into the 1980's to find a machine without any kind of computer, and any machine that old would be so obsolete it would be tough to find any kind of parts for. You'll certainly have computers for hydraulic controls by the 1990's, though ECU's came in a bit later. I...

    No safety lockout solenoid??

Well, no luck. That valve is sooooo close, and it would work if I could install it, but the thread size and pitch is wrong. It's too big. It might be possible to have a machine shop drill and rethread the block but I'm going to leave that as a last resort. The dealer is going to take another...

Looking to talk to Operators/Mechanics of Heavy Equipment Machinery

Make sure the tracks are still on it and giver till she blows? I think the clipboard warrior types off of mining and pipelining are more into this stuff than operators.

Kobelco keeps blowing drive motor shaft seal

Have you checked the relief pressures at the pumps? It's usually pretty easy. If you don't have gauges you can pick up a cheap set on amazon for $100, they're well worth it. If your case drain is fine (confirm this, it is the usual cause of this problem) and the pumps are relieving at the...

    Perkins 1104D-E44TA

IMO your turbo issue is a symptom of an engine problem. I hope I end up being wrong.

    Perkins 1104D-E44TA

I'm thinking engine damage as well. It's also possible it tossed garbage through the oiling system, chewing up the turbos centre section. Either way this sounds like more than just a turbo

    Perkins 1104D-E44TA

This sounds strange. I wouldn't expect a seized turbo to suddenly stop an engine, it would smoke like the devil but it should still run. Is the engine still turning over fine and not making funny noises?

    What's up with this pump?

Well, that's fascinating. It's funny how you can go to different parts of the world, or even the same country sometimes, and find totally different ways of doing the same thing. I'm kind of glad to have truck mounted slip tanks, frankly. This setup looks like logistics pain. Who's handling all...

    What's up with this pump?

Service call?? What, you think I'm rich enough to hire people to fix this turd? Hahaha

    What's up with this pump?

I'll call bull on that. Maybe if it idles most of the shift. This 210 has a 200L tank. I ran a JD 350 at a mine for a while, I'd burn between 3-400 litres in a 12hr day. Ran a 470 for a bit too, that regularly drank down 500L a shift. There's no chance a 210 is using only 200L in 24hrs.

    What's up with this pump?

Haha that's actually from the main tank, it died last year and after I changed it I figured it would work good for keeping the battery lid up since that gas shock is toast. An auxiliary tank would make sense though, I hadn't thought of that, she's not too hard on fuel but I suppose 12+hr shifts...

    What's up with this pump?

I've never seen a setup like this before. I fill through the top from my slip tank and there's a large petcock drain in the bottom. The hose doesn't even look long enough to reach a truck tank. Maybe it's just redundancy for it's own sake and I'm overthinking it.

    What's up with this pump?

Is this some precursor setup from before guys had tidy tanks with pumps? Or is it for something else entirely? It's plumbed into the fuel tank and there's a (broken) wire next to it with keyed 24V (there's also a switch on the pump).

    No safety lockout solenoid??

Very helpful regardless, at least I have part numbers for the dealer to get something in my hands to verify if it will work.

Can bad hydraulic pumps make pressure spec?

All and none. Coming from auto mechanics I tend to use the terms interchangeably. There's only one main computer, manual calls it the CPU. Everything seems to work the same after hitting the prolix switch, other than it not being tired mule slow

    No safety lockout solenoid??

Just did some googling and you're right, different voltages. Thanks a bunch, this gives me something to go back to the dealer with

Can bad hydraulic pumps make pressure spec?

I'm inclined to agree. But does this sound like a fried ECU? I would've figured that a dead computer would mean a dead machine

    No safety lockout solenoid??

That sure does look like it. Do you know what the differences are between the coils? Or do you think they're interchangeable

Can bad hydraulic pumps make pressure spec?

Well, the plot thickens. I think my pumps are okay, though I'm still very curious to have the title question answered. I just found some tests in the service manual for the EPPR and performed them. The EPPR itself seems to be fine, however the signal it's getting from the ECU is not. It's...
